When Can I Run? A Simple Test For Groin Injury | Physio Penrith

An important rehab decision for groin pain is when can a person return to straight line running. If you have groin pain and have had an accurate diagnosis of a groin related injury and wondering when you might be able to return to activity, then there are two tests are critical to answering that question.

If you want to straight line jog or run this modification of the pubic stress test is for you. It allows the physiotherapist or accredited exercise physiologist to assess the athlete in the simulated running position with one hip flexed and the other leg in relative neutral hip flexion/ extension. The neutral hip is passively moved into hip extension and any provocation would suggest that the patient may not be ready for a return to running.
